Australian Female Entrepreneurs Have Brought Australia To The Forefront Of Business

Trish Davies looks at the strength in depth of Australian female entrepreneurs that have positioned Australia at the forefront for businesswomen.

Hi Trish Davies, here and today I want to look at a sector of my home nations business landscape. Although I was born in the UK, I am very much an Aussie, and this has been my home from an early age. I am very proud of my country and it is positioned highly when it comes to economic clout within the world.

In 2018 Australia became the country the largest median wealth per adult in the world. Last year saw it slip into second place behind Switzerland, but the country can feel very proud of this status.

The Australian economy is very robust, resilient so it appeals to investors due to a low-risk environment. The nation has a very well-educated workforce with an enterprising mindset which leads to innovation. Coupled with having dynamic industry sectors and prominent global integration it provides a safe place to do business.

Therefore, it has a strong small business sector and is the perfect place for Australian female entrepreneurs. Now I don’t want to get too political, but the business world is still a tough place for women to gain a foothold. Saying that we are a resilient and determined breed, so it doesn’t hold us back. If anything, it makes us try that bit harder even though we shouldn’t have to.

Australia is in the top ten countries in the world for proportion of women owned and led businesses. Positioned at number 8 there is still room for improvement but as a nation we should still be proud of that achievement.

Why Australian Female Entrepreneurs Should Feel Empowered

Our government has shown the willingness to help highly talented women to start their own businesses. This year they have set their stall by announcing a Boosting Female Founders initiative. This will enable women to access funding to launch their own businesses which has always been a barrier.

Hopefully, this will start to address the disappointing statistic that only 30% of entrepreneurs in Australia are women. Especially when we make up nearly half of the workforce of our beautiful country.

The good news though is that there has been a rise in the number of women entering leadership roles. Certain parts of the country have entered the Dells Women’s Entrepreneur Cities Index in the top twenty. This measures the ability for cities to attract and support highly talented female entrepreneurs.

So, there is huge optimism for Australian female entrepreneurs to make their mark on the world. To reinforce this optimism here are the top 5 female entrepreneurs in Australia for last year. It will be interesting to see if they hold their spots when this year’s statistics are published. Or maybe we will see some new faces at the top table!

My Own Story

Up until 2005 I worked with the corporate world in Australia but realised that is wasn’t what I wanted out of life. Six years prior I & my daughter had to deal with tragedy as my husband as killed in a motorcycle accident. That left me a widow and single mum and Emily without her father.

From that day I was focused on building a financial firewall around the both of us. I invested in my education and successfully obtained my degree which led me to my corporate job. As I have said it wasn’t the life, I wanted for myself and Emily and that is when I began to explore different options.

I became aware of real estate investment and connected with a lady who had been very successful. She became my mentor and through her guidance, training, and my own hard work I built up my own portfolio.

That has been very successful for me and yields monthly income and cashflow. Also, I have built up assets that will always have value and work for me by providing the income just mentioned.

I am also a public speaker, trainer and coach for a training company based near my home in New South Wales. I host business management and leadership courses for various industries and business sectors.

Online Business Ventures

I have also explored digital marketing business models and affiliate marketing in particular. It intrigued me how online business worked so I joined a very successful online business education organisation to learn the skills sets required.

The company also had an affiliate program which meant I could resell the training programs to other aspiring entrepreneurs. This has proven to be very successful and has enabled me to earn multiple thousands of dollars for a single sale.

It is a great cashflow business and one that I can turn on instantly through the systems I have created. For more information about this please click here at Lead Your Lifestyle.

My latest venture is one that I am very passionate about and one I have wanted to launch for several years. Last year gave me the opportunity to launch Build Your AU which is designed around building your own brand.

I have created a very complex and detailed program that teaches you how to build a brand online. Also, it shows you how to create your own suite of products and services which can form an online training package.

This program has been a culmination of all my business experience over the last 15 – 20 years. I realise that you can only create the lifestyle you want through taking action and I empower my members to do just that. So much so that one of my members says he has virtual bruises because I keep waving my pointy stick at it.

I have other aspiring Australian female entrepreneurs within my group, and I invite you to join them. To receive a complimentary video series which explains how the process works please click here.

In Summary

Australia as a country is a great place to start your own business for women. There are many resources that are available to you of which many I can introduce you to. Also, you don’t need millions of dollars of venture capital to get started. My Build Your AU mastermind program gives you a clear path to follow to build your own brand. I feel very passionate about empowering women to build assets for themselves. I am living proof it can be done and I empower you to become one of the ever-growing lists of Australian female entrepreneurs.
