Work Life Balance Strategies | Work Life Balance Tips

All work and no play can be a destructive combination so you must find that equilibrium. Here are some work life balance strategies to level things out.

Hi Trish Davies, here from TrishDaviesInternational.com. I’m here checking in from Cronulla Beach here in New South Wales which is where my daughter lives. I think today’s post is all about the importance of downtime, that importance of family time.

Making that time as a business owner, as an independent business owner to create areas within your calendar. To ensure that you have that downtime, that vacation time, to create those work life balance strategies.

You can get caught up or swept up in the building of your business. Not allowing that time to create ultimately what you want to create which is that work and family life balance. That balance between family and work, the things that you love doing and work, your passion and work.

Creating that space or that online space is what you’re intending to do or that’s your intention is to create that balance. So, I am here sitting on a beautiful beach, the weather is perfect, and it is time for a moment of reflection.

Time For Reflection

I think what this last year has really taught us is now the importance of creating that balance. Covid has definitely snapped us into this awareness of knowing that we have to be kind to ourselves. Also, to find opportunities to create those opportunities.

I think it’s more about finding those opportunities for ourselves. Then to be able to now, as we move forward, maintain that balance, maintain the lifestyle that we want to create. Then keep it.

I think that’s really what this message is all about here today. I say that because I’ve had time to just get away from the business, to switch off and reflect on what’s important. Make sure that it is the thing that keeps driving you to create the lifestyle you want to live.

It’s the perfect thing. Or the perfect opportunity to also create that dream or vision of what of what you want to achieve perfectly? I would love to have an apartment here very close to Emily. So, it definitely is on my list.

It’s definitely something that’s on my list of goals. Something that I want to achieve so that I can actually make that movement now between here and Tasmania. That’s where my house is at the moment, everything is down there, all my furniture and belongings. Don’t get me wrong it feels great because I have a place down that’s very close to my family.

Then be up here and have that ability to come here during the winter months. Come up here to experience this perfect, beautiful weather and be close to my daughter.

Then also I have my place over in northeast Ohio, which at the moment is impossible to get to. Obviously that’s because of the restrictions and what’s going on around the world.

What Lifestyle Do you Want To Build?

However, you know, this is what it’s about for me. It’s been about building the lifestyle and building these places where I can stay. Places that are really convenient to what it is that I want to do and what I want to achieve. Having these places allows you, this movement and this freedom to really do what you want to do, and that’s what it’s all about.

It’s the importance of family, the importance of creating this life that you want to live. You must visualise it  and then create a pathway to get there. Or having a means or a model or strategy to get you there, to get you to that vision or dream.

Achieving those goals, having that vision, having that picture of what it is that you want to do. Why are you building what you want to build? For me, it’s freedom and the lifestyle and family and then just having that strategy to get you there.
